Tryout Snapshot
1) CHECK the tryout page for session assignments daily.
2) PREP - Tryout jerseys provided at the first session; Remove all helmet stickers; Socks must match and be black, white or OMGHA.
3) REVIEW the U10 Travel Information file for additional detail.
4) LET THE FUN BEGIN!
Moms - We Need You
Locker Room Moms are required for every practice and game. Check the requirements off the list now so you are ready to help our teams have a smooth start to the season.
- Register as a Volunteer at USA Hockey (annually)
- Submit Background Screen: Visit the Volunteer page and scroll to the Background Screen portion for instructions. (every 2 years)
- Complete SafeSport training (annually)
Locker Room Access
Tryouts are closed to viewing.
Parents are not allowed in locker rooms. If a player needs assistance (i.e. tying skates), they may ask the LRM for assistance or exit the locker room to have a parent help. Parents may assist their player but must exit immediately.

*Session assignments will be posted to the OMGHA website U10 Tryout Page the night before each tryout day. It is your responsibility to monitor the site to understand which session you must attend based on the session your players tryout jersey number is listed. Tryouts are closed for viewing; parents may enter to tie the skates of a U10 skater but must exit immediately after.
REMINDER: PER OUR PARENT HANDBOOK THERE IS A 24 HOUR "COOLING OFF PERIOD' FOLLOWING TRYOUTS. NO PARENT OR PLAYER CAN INITIATE CONTACT WITH COACHES, LEVEL DIRECTORS OR BOARD MEMBERS DURING THIS TIME.
Get In The Zone for a Successful Tryout
2023-2024 U10 AGE CLASSIFICATIONS
OMGHA player age eligibility is governed by the Minnesota Hockey age classification. Effective with the 2020-2021 season, Minnesota Hockey changed the starting birth date for each age classification to June 1st.
2023-2024 U10 birth date eligibility are:
June 1, 2012 - May 31, 2014
Players who have previously played with OMGHA will be allowed to adjust to the new age classification. Each qualifying player will be allowed to make the age classification change once. Players new to OMGHA will need to register with their designated age classification as set by Minnesota Hockey.
