OMGHA is excited to host the USA Hockey Dynamic Skating Coaching Clinic on October 13, 2024, 3:45 – 6:45 PM at the Maple Grove Community Center.  The course is a combination of classroom learning and on-ice application and designed for 10U/Squirt and 12U/PeeWee coaches.  This event is open to all travel coaches.  Please plan to bring your coaching equipment in case you are one of the coaches that joins the on-ice portion. 

The clinic will empower coaches to rethink their approach to teaching skating, using innovative, game like activities creating a more enjoyable and effective learning experience for young players.

The clinic will provide coaches with:

1. The ability to recognize proper skating fundamentals by observing the principles of skating development in an activity.
2. Innovative and engaging approach to teaching skating.
3. An understanding of the 5 Elements of practice planning with a focus on development of skating skills.
4. Creative and learning environment where the game teaches skating skills.

Skating is a fundamental of the game - great players are great skaters.  We invite all Travel Coaches to attend this unique opportunity to learn how to develop better hockey skaters.  If you are a Level 4 or 5, you will be able to earn 3 CE Hours toward your CEP requirements.
