Quentin Carlson dedication to occur December 3rd

Dedication of the West Arena will be held on Thursday, December 3rd between the J.V. (5:00 PM) and Varsity (7:00 PM) games vs. St. Louis Park. The arena will be renamed the Quentin Carlson Memorial Rink.

A time to remember, appetizers, and fundraiser will follow the varsity game at the
Osseo American Legion. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Osseo Hockey program in memory of Coach Carlson.

To quote Rev. Krumri at Quentin’s funeral, “How can we best remember and honor a person like him? The ideals he stood for include caring for family, good sportsmanship, and Christian commitment. By seeking to live these qualities ourselves, we can best honor him!”

Investors, businesses, and groups contributed to the construction of the Osseo Hockey Arena in 1973. “There’s one thing I want you to know,” Quentin Carlson told the Osseo-Maple Grove Press in an article in July 1973, “this is not MY hockey rink.” It was Coach Carlson who led the movement and made the dream a reality. He uses a combination of enthusiasm and sincerity which reflects both his personality and professional philosophizes about the game of hockey and life.

This dream gave the Osseo School District their own ice which was dedicated on Dec. 16, 1973.

Please come help us celebrate the dedication of the west rink and what Coach Carlson helped put in place for his beloved Osseo Hockey team and all players to come.

With great thanks and appreciation to District 279, - The Carlson Family
