OMGHA Tournament Chair                                                                                              

Position Description

January 7, 2017                                                         

OMGHA is seeking a Tournament Chair person for the upcoming 2017-2018 hockey season.  This role will ideally be filled by January 19 so that the new person can shadow the upcoming OMGHA tournaments this season to learn more about the role and our tournaments.

Responsibilities of Role

·       Work at direction of OMGHA Board of Directors to operate profitable tournaments to support OMGHA financially.

·       Responsible for scheduling OMGHA tournaments.  These responsibilities include working with ice arena’s and ice scheduler to secure ice, scheduling game times, and arranging referees for all games.

·       Advertising and filling the OMGHA tournaments.  These responsibilities include placing ads in hockey publications, using social media and other means to fill the OMGHA tournaments.

·       Work with District 3 and MN Hockey officials to secure approvals and resources needed to host tournaments.

·       Schedule EMT’s to be present at facilities.

·       Oversee on-site tournament coordinators to ensure games are supported and tournament operates smoothly.

·       Produce tournament books with rosters, schedules and advertisers.

·       Purchase tournament trophies and giveaways (if applicable).

·       Work with NGIN System Administrator to set up on-line tournament registrations.

·       Track registrations as they come in.

·       Prepare tournament financial statements.

·       Update tournament website.

Role compensation:

·       Registration fee for 1 player waived

·       OMGHA portion of subsidy payments waived (not team portion)

·       Volunteer hours waived
